Answers for every step of your EDHA journey.
From choosing a professional to privacy, sessions, payments and support.
About EDHA & Professionals
What is EDHA?
EDHA is an online platform operated by Idalia Mental Health LLP. It helps adults discover and connect with independent mental health professionals and facilitates booking, payment and the online session experience. The professional you choose provides the professional service independently.
Does EDHA provide counselling itself?
No. Counselling and other professional mental health services are provided independently by the mental health professional you select. EDHA provides the technology and platform experience that helps you find, book, pay and connect.
How does EDHA verify professionals?
EDHA reviews identity, relevant professional qualifications, registration where applicable, and supporting information related to the professional's stated area of practice. EDHA verification is a platform credential-review process and is not licensing, certification or a guarantee of outcomes.
Do I need an account to browse professionals?
No. You can browse listings and full profiles without an account. You need an account when you are ready to make a paid booking.
Finding & Booking Support
What if I am not sure what kind of support I need?
Start with the concern that feels closest to your experience or use Edha AI for a simple first conversation. You can then view matching professionals without having to diagnose yourself.
How far in advance can I book?
A session must be booked at least 4 hours before its scheduled start time.
What session options can professionals offer?
Depending on the professional, EDHA may show video, audio or secure chat sessions and available durations such as 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The profile shows the options actually offered by that professional.
When can I see my professional's contact details?
The booked professional's registered email and mobile become visible in your account after successful payment and confirmed booking. The professional can then see your registered contact details for that paid booking.
Payments, Cancellation & Rescheduling
How do I pay?
Payment is made online during the EDHA booking journey. The amount shown at checkout is the amount payable for the selected session, subject to the applicable payment and refund terms.
Can a session be rescheduled?
Yes. EDHA encourages rescheduling rather than cancellation. A booking may be rescheduled only with the same Mental Health Professional, ordinarily at least 2 hours before the session and normally once per booking. The revised date and time must also be updated inside EDHA.
What if I want to change to another professional?
A confirmed booking cannot be transferred to another professional. Where an eligible change-professional refund is approved, the existing booking is refunded and you can make a fresh booking. Up to two discretionary change-professional refunds may be approved in a rolling 6-month period, subject to the policy and genuine service concerns.
What if a session is cancelled or there is a payment issue?
Use EDHA Support so the booking and payment record can be reviewed. Any eligible refund is handled according to EDHA's Cancellation, Rescheduling and Refund Policy.
Your Online Session
Are EDHA sessions online only?
Yes. EDHA is designed for online sessions through the EDHA website. Depending on the professional and your device, the session may be by video, audio or secure chat.
Do I need to download an app?
No. EDHA is website-first and is intended to work in a suitable modern browser on supported phones, tablets and computers. An app is not required to book or attend a supported web session.
What if video does not work on my device?
EDHA checks browser and device capabilities where possible. If video is unsupported or unreliable, another supported mode such as audio or chat may be available depending on the booking and professional.
Can I share a document with my professional?
Where enabled for your session, EDHA provides controlled private document exchange. Only share information relevant to your professional support.
Privacy, Confidentiality & Your Data
Are video or audio counselling sessions recorded?
No. EDHA does not record counselling video or audio sessions by default. Limited operational metadata such as join, leave and session activity information may be retained for security, service operation, dispute handling and payout verification.
Is my counselling information confidential?
EDHA is designed to minimise unnecessary access to counselling information. Your professional remains responsible for professional confidentiality within their applicable ethical and legal obligations. Please read EDHA's Privacy Policy, Confidentiality information and Informed Consent for the detailed framework.
Does EDHA read my counselling conversations?
EDHA does not use counselling conversations as ordinary administrative content. Secure chat is designed with privacy protections. Limited access or technical processing may occur where necessary for service operation, safety, security, legal obligations or an issue you report, as described in the applicable policies.
Who can see my contact information?
Your contact details are not displayed publicly. A professional receives your registered contact details only in connection with a confirmed paid booking, and you receive the booked professional's registered contact details at that stage.
What operational information does EDHA retain?
EDHA may retain information needed to operate the platform, such as account, booking, payment, support and session attendance metadata. Retention and data rights are explained in the Privacy Policy.
After Your Session
How is a session marked completed?
The professional can mark the session completed, but that action alone does not determine EDHA's internal payout eligibility. The platform also uses trusted operational attendance information and an issue-reporting window.
What if something went wrong with my session?
Use 'Report a problem with this session' from your account during the available issue-reporting period, or contact EDHA Support. The team can review technical, attendance, booking or payment issues.
Can I rate my professional?
Where enabled after an eligible completed session, you can leave a star rating through your EDHA account.
Professional Conduct & Concerns
What if I feel uncomfortable with a professional?
You may discontinue the interaction where appropriate and write to ask@edha.life with your booking reference and a factual description. EDHA will review the matter at platform level and may seek information, restrict or suspend the professional, or take other appropriate action. For emergencies or matters requiring police/statutory action, contact the appropriate authority directly.
Does EDHA control what a professional says or does in counselling?
No. Mental Health Professionals provide their services independently and remain responsible for their professional judgement, methodology, communications, conduct, confidentiality and lawful scope. EDHA facilitates the platform and can review reported platform/professional-conduct concerns.
Safety & Emergency Support
Is EDHA an emergency or crisis service?
No. EDHA is not a crisis or emergency response service. If you or someone you know is at immediate risk, seek urgent in-person help through local emergency services or the nearest hospital.
Where can I get immediate mental health support in India?
Government of India Tele-MANAS provides 24x7 mental health support in India at 14416 or 1800-89-14416. For an immediate emergency, use the appropriate local emergency service or nearest hospital.
For Organisations
Can an organisation invite an EDHA professional for a talk or workshop?
Yes. Schools, colleges, universities, companies, NGOs, associations and community groups can approach EDHA for expert-led mental and emotional well-being talks, workshops, webinars, panels and interactive sessions.
How are institutional sessions priced and scheduled?
Institutional sessions are separate from individual counselling bookings. EDHA discusses the audience, topic, format, professional availability, duration, date, location and fee separately for each enquiry. Normal counselling fees shown on a professional profile do not determine the institutional-session fee.
Who delivers an institutional session?
EDHA facilitates the engagement and identifies a suitable independent Mental Health Professional from its network. The selected professional delivers the professional session independently within the agreed scope.
Account Closure & Data
Can I close and delete my EDHA account?
Yes. Clients and professionals have a self-service account-closure option from their account page. Closure is permanent and the active EDHA account cannot be restored.
When will EDHA allow account closure?
A client must have no open or unresolved session, payment/refund transaction or open support/review matter. A professional must also have no unsettled professional payout. If a blocker exists, EDHA will show it and account closure will not proceed until it is resolved.
What happens to my information after account closure?
EDHA removes or anonymises active account/profile information and ends account access. Certain transaction, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, audit, security or professional-verification records may still be retained for the period reasonably necessary or required by applicable law. They do not remain as an active public account or profile.
Can a professional close an account while a payout is pending?
No. EDHA blocks professional account closure until eligible payouts and other unresolved financial items have been settled. An earned eligible payout is not forfeited merely because the professional wants to close the account.
Help & Contact EDHA
How do I contact EDHA?
For seeker and general support, email ask@edha.life or call +91 83686 23753, Mon-Fri 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, excluding public holidays. Registered professionals may use team@edha.life for professional-platform communication. Email responses are ordinarily provided within 24-48 business hours.
How are support issues handled?
Submitting the EDHA support form creates a support request for the team to review. Use it for booking, payment, account, technical or session-operation issues. Do not use the support form for emergencies.
Our support team can help with EDHA platform, booking, payment and session-operation questions.
Can EDHA close my account for me?
Yes. A client or professional may request account closure from EDHA in writing from the registered email address. Super Admin can process the request only after confirming that there are no open sessions, pending payments, refunds, professional payouts or unresolved support/review matters. The administrator must record who processed the closure, when it was processed and the reason. A permanent audit record is retained for accountability.
What types of counselling sessions can professionals offer?
EDHA supports separate service offerings for individual counselling, couples/relationship counselling and family counselling. Professionals choose only the formats that are within their experience and scope, and may set different fees and durations for each service.
