EDHA concern guide

Couples Counselling

Couples may seek counselling when they feel stuck in repeated conflict, emotionally disconnected or uncertain about how to handle a major relationship challenge.

People often seek support when...

  • Recurring arguments that do not resolve
  • Trust or intimacy concerns
  • Difficulty communicating needs
  • Major transitions, parenting pressures or decisions about the future

How counselling may help

  • Create a structured space for both partners to be heard
  • Identify interaction patterns that keep conflict going
  • Practise clearer communication and repair
  • Clarify shared goals and relationship decisions

When other care may also be appropriate

Couples counselling is not a substitute for immediate safety planning where there is violence, coercion or fear of harm.

EDHA is not an emergency service. If there is immediate risk, seek urgent in-person help through local emergency services or the nearest hospital. Government of India Tele-MANAS is available 24x7 at 14416 or 1800-89-14416.
