EDHA concern guide

Parenting

Parents may seek support when family demands, behavioural concerns, co-parenting or their own stress begins to feel difficult to manage.

People often seek support when...

  • Feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to respond
  • Recurring parent-child conflict
  • Co-parenting or family-transition challenges
  • Guilt, burnout or difficulty balancing roles

How counselling may help

  • Clarify parenting goals and expectations
  • Strengthen communication and boundaries
  • Support emotional regulation during conflict
  • Explore how family patterns affect current parenting

When other care may also be appropriate

Concerns involving a child’s diagnosis, safeguarding, developmental assessment or acute risk may require an appropriately qualified child/adolescent professional or other specialist service.

EDHA is not an emergency service. If there is immediate risk, seek urgent in-person help through local emergency services or the nearest hospital. Government of India Tele-MANAS is available 24x7 at 14416 or 1800-89-14416.
